We recommend trying the Red Snapper Rockefeller with spinach, bacon, and shrimp in a cheese sauce. Or you can try the Grilled Tuna Jambalaya with shrimp, sausage, crawfish, and scallops — a seafood feast! If you want a traditional Cajun dish, you can’t go wrong with The Whiskey Bay Fish Plate — a massive meal of blackened filet, shrimp, mushrooms, and sausage in a creamy and cheesy sauce.
Sea Ranch
Another favorite spot among the locals and yearly tourists is The Sea Ranch, a casual seafood restaurant that uses local produce, vegetables, and fish to churn out mouthwatering and tasty dishes. With such a wide selection of seafood to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start!
However, we would recommend getting The Heat From the Deep dish to split with the table, featuring four gulf shrimp stuffed with cream cheese and jalapenos. Or you can get the fan-favorite Onion Blossom or hot artichoke parmesan cheese dip.
For the main course, you can’t go wrong with the 14-ounce rib-eye steak with a side of rice pilaf, baked potato, or scalloped potatoes. If you want some of fresh seafood, try the tenderloin kabobs and shrimp over rice pilaf with a soup and salad.
SIGHTSEEING AND RECREATION DURING YOUR SOUTH PADRE ISLAND VACATION
