Some may think that a pool is redundant when surrounded by the serenity the sea brings, but there are pluses to be found. Lounge chairs that surround our pools make perfect spots to enjoy frothy margaritas (or other tropical beverages) that you whipped together in our fully equipped kitchens, and for some, it feels more civilized to swim in water that isn’t the habitat of other living creatures. For our guests visiting in the later days of spring, there is a certain luxury to moonlit swims, enjoyed long after the kids have gone to bed.

Spring truly is one of the best times of the year on South Padre Island, and like most visitors (and residents), you will be reluctant to spend much time inside when the weather outside is so absolutely gorgeous. Spring Break Jam
As mentioned, Spring Break is a popular event here in South Padre Island as it brings about a variety of entertainment. One of the events happening this Spring Break is the Spring Break Jam, South Padre Island’s very own car show. This annual event is one of the island’s most popular ways to celebrate Spring Break. This two-day event features a variety of festivities including the aforementioned car show, a tattoo expo, burnout contest, live entertainment with various musical performances, an after party, and so much more. Spring Break Jam is an all-ages event, but some content may be suited for adults. Come see some incredible vehicles on display including vintage cars and modern remodels. This year’s Spring Break Jam will take place at the South Padre Island Convention Center as usual on April 1st and 2nd. After party details are still to come!
Spring Break Music Lineup
Spring Break on South Padre Island has been a popular college destination for years now. Each year, thousands of college students make their way to the island for a variety of events in South Padre Island, including various musical performances from today’s biggest musical acts. This year is no different, as musical performances will be taking place daily at South Padre Island’s very own Clayton’s Beach Bar & Grill. For 2023 you can see hit acts such as Glorilla, Lil Wayne, Steve Aoki, Kodak Black, 311, and even Diesel aka Shaquille O’Neal. Clayton’s Beach Bar & Grill is a spacious venue, but far from the giant arenas these musical artists typically play. That means you can see a much more intimate performance than usual when you visit for Spring Break. Tickets are also reasonably priced and much cheaper than regular performances when these artists are on tour. Now you have multiple reasons to hit up Clayton’s during every day of your spring getaway.
Thursday Night Laughs
Make sure to show up for your South Padre Island getaway ready for some laughs as Thursday Night Laughs will be taking place all season long. This weekly comedy show will take place at Quarterdeck Lounge here on South Padre Island. With South Padre Island being a barrier island to the rest of Texas, you can expect that we receive tons of aquatic visitors throughout the year. Local organizations such as Sea Turtle, Inc. assist aquatic animals such as sea turtles who are injured. Their rehabilitation will help them return to the Gulf and be completely independent once again. Visit their educational facility during your stay where your family can learn all about these wonderful critters. You can see each sea turtle in their habitat swimming around and getting the help they need. Ticket fees for this nonprofit organization go directly to help the sea turtles!
Visit Beach Park at Isla Blanca
There is nothing more exciting to children than hitting up the local water park. Make sure to stop by Beach Park located at Isla Blanca during your stay on South Padre Island. This local water park will have limited capacity during the summer season but has every attraction open to visitors. You and your family can enjoy the Surf Rider, a wave pool that simulates surfing conditions, floating pool pars, thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and much more. The weather in South Padre Island always encourages the opportunities to jump in the water and cool off. Beach Park at Isla Blanca is scheduled to open this summer season on 5/21 at 11:00 AM. Stop by Gravity Park
Another incredible family friendly attraction right here in South Padre Island is the popular Gravity Park. This local amusement park has everything you need to help bring in the summer season. Gravity Park offers all of your favorite amusement park activities such as mini golf, go karts, and reverse bungee jumping; in fact, Gravity Park has the world’s tallest reverse bungee! Take the roller coaster for a high-speed thrill ride with views of the entire island. The Ferris wheel is another great way to get some heights. The arcade is perfect for the especially hot days of summer so you can beat the sun. Gravity Park is open daily this summer from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
