Que Padre Latin Dance Festival
Get ready to put your best foot forward with the Que Padre Latin Dance Festival happening soon on South Padre Island. This dance festival focuses on Latin dance music for three days filled with workshops and entertainment. World-renowned dance instructors will be putting on the workshops so you can get detailed instruction and expertise. After the workshops, you can stick around for 3 nights of social dancing that includes salsa and bachata. The event will also include world-renowned DJs playing the biggest hits along with dance pool parties. If you are still partying through the night make sure to stay for the sunrise dancing on the beach with a silent headphone party. A variety of passes are available to choose from. The Que Padre Latin Dance Festival will take place June 23rd through the 25th so get ready!
Fourth of July Fireworks
The summer season is not complete until you have experienced the thrilling Fourth of July Fireworks celebration right here on South Padre Island. The island puts on one of the best fireworks displays in the entire state of Texas. You can expect to see hundreds of fireworks shoot up over Laguna Madre Bay and see the light show reflect off the water. The event is absolutely free for everyone to attend and can be seen from anywhere along the shoreline of Laguna Madre Bay. This is a very popular event with both locals and visitors so make sure to find your viewing area early in the evening to secure a good spot. The fireworks will start at 9:15 PM sharp. Texas International Fishing Tournament
Get ready for the largest saltwater fishing tournament in Texas with the Texas International Fishing Tournament. This annual event features three categories of bay, tarpon, and offshore fishing so you can pick which style of fishing you want to compete in. This event typically features up to 1,500 anglers and over 500 boats in the competition. The event includes captains’ meeting, hospitality social, two days of fishing, and an award ceremony to close up the weekend. Don’t miss out on the Texas International Fishing Tournament taking place August 2nd through the 6th right here on South Padre Island.
SPI Wahoo Classic
When you are located right on the shore you can expect plenty of sea fishing to take place on South Padre Island. Visitors can always book a deep sea charter to sail out into the water and try their hand at reeling in a trophy-size catch. For those who are looking for a little competition make sure to visit South Padre Island at the end of the summer season for the SPI Wahoo Classic. This annual fishing tournament is a 3-day event that awards cash prizes to the top 3 fish reeled in; the fish varieties for the trophies include wahoo, blackfin, and dorado. This year’s WPI Wahoo Classic will take place from September 8th through the 10th!
